Three qualities I expect from a ‘good book’ are good beginning,
suspense, and realistic characters. The first 20 pages of a book for me, are
what help me determine weather or not I will keep reading the book. If the
beginning does not intrigue me there is a good chance I will stop reading it
all together. Which is also the case with suspense if I can figure out or guess
what is going to happen next in a book I don’t see much point in me reading the
rest of it. Lastly if the characters are not something I can relate to like
someone my own age it doesn’t draw me in as much. When the characters are alot
like me it is easier to feel the things they do like their happiness and their
pain.

Halse-Anderson, Laurie.
Wintergirls.
United states. 2009 |
The book I am currently reading is
Wintergirls by Laurie halse Anderson. The beginning was not as good as it could have been. It was really confusing at some parts, but once i got past that it turned out really good. I thought the book was full of suspense. the desisions Lia made through out made you want to know what happened next and kept you on the edge of your seat. Anderson made the main character a young teenage girl going through all the stresses of highschool which made her very relatable. Although i dont think i would have made the same choices as Lia in the book I could understand where she was coming from.
I really enjoy your blog colours, the background is nice! I suggest making sure that the "I's" in your posts are capitals. Would you suggest this book to any of your classmates?
ReplyDeleteI agree with you that a book should have a good beginning so it captures the readers attention and makes the reader want to read more
ReplyDeleteI agree with you and dilbar that the beginning should have been more inviting. Check you'r capitals, but I really like your blog disign.
ReplyDeleteGood job Jackie. Make sure your the letters that are supossed to be capitalized get there, great structure.
ReplyDeleteI like your choice in your three qualities in a book, just check your capitalization, I like the set up of this post. Nice job!
