The Best Little Girl In The World
'The Best Little girl In The World' was filmed in 1981 and is about a young girl named Casey who becomes anorexic. She becomes anorexic because she joined ballet with her friends and the teacher encouraged her to loose a few pounds. Once she stared losing weight she wanted to look like the girls on the magazines. Her parents got her a therapist and put her in a hospital but it wasn't helping. At one point in the movie the doctor talks about how teenagers want to be in control of their lives. Being as they cant they take control of their hunger and stop eating to feel as though they do have control. In the hospital Casey meet a girl named Carol who like Casey suffers from anorexia. Carol decides to teaches her how to trick the nurses into thinking she is improving so she can go home and lose the weight all over again. This movie is a great reminder of how powerful this illness truely is, it took over Casey on only a few months.
